The staff from various University departments that deal with personnel, student and financial matters will now be more effective in executing their duties. From 7 to 9 April 2025, these staff members attended a workshop run by ADAPT IT, an IT company.  Staff were empowered with additional knowledge on the use of the ITS system. Nkosana Jijimba, a business analyst from the Department of Information Technology and Networks, said they had identified that staff from these departments needed to know more about the ITS system so they would be able to offer more services to their clients. “ITS has many layers that staff may not have been aware of. We looked at all three functional areas of the system, namely Student Systems, Finance, HR and Payroll, Space and HEMIS,” said Jijimba.

Jijimba said ADAP IT worked with all affected departments to identify areas where the staff needed improvement. “During the training, ADAPT IT staff assisted us in pointing out some of the menus or programmes within the system that we were not utilising,” said Jijimba, adding that the training was called Whitespace Engagement.  The staff from the various departments gained a lot from the exercise and said they were looking forward to engagements of this nature. “There is even a plan to create internal forums to deal with issues related to ITS. It is an ongoing effort,” said Jijimba.
