MUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal’s exam message to grade 12 learners

Professor Nokuthula Sibiya

‘It is that time of the year when our grade 12 learners have to prepare for their last basic education examination, which starts on 21 October 2024. This is a nerve-racking time for both child and parent. This time determines the future of the young adults, and the country. As MUT, we would like both parents and the learners, and the Department of Basic Education, to know that we stand by the learners as they are about to sit for their examinations. As a University, we appeal to all learners to stay calm, and reflect on what their teachers have been telling them since the beginning of the year – do what is right for your future. Learners must put aside everything and focus on their studies.

Learners, please be safe as you now think of extending your study hours to increase your chances to pass well. You are aware of how tough it is to enroll for post-matric studies. Please aim high and seek for help from your teachers and your classmates. Take time to relax; just a few minutes, then get back to your studies. Parents, please give your children time to focus on their studies. It is only for a few days.

As MUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal, I wish you all the best. I hope to see some of you as MUT first year students next year.’

Regards,

Professor Nokuthula Sibiya – MUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal
