Writing Centre

WHAT WE DO

We help undergraduates learn how to write for their disciplines and for research.  We also collaborate with staff to embed writing in their modules and to improve their research writing.

What is a writing consultation

Learning how to write for university modules can be a difficult task. One place to obtain help is at MUT’s Writing Centre. Students can book a free, 50 minute, one-on-one session with a trained writing assistant, who can provide support with the following:

  • Understanding the assignment questions;
  • Developing an academic argument;
  • Supporting your argument with academic sources;
  • Paraphrasing and referencing; and
  • Reformulating and revising written drafts.
